Patch panel is a necessary element in building the structured cable networks. Used for the cable supply in open frame racks and telecommunication cabinets in order to provide high quality commutation. Patch panels differ in the number of ports, category and mounting method. The most widely used patch panels in network engineering are 12-, 24- and 48-port units. One port is intended for one telecommunication line.
