Modern producers of server furniture offer a wide range of models that differ in terms of size and construction. As for their dimensions, there are full- and half-sized models. A half-height server rack cabinet has this name due to the specifics of its construction – typically, it represents half or a quarter of the size of a full-sized stationary rack in terms of unit height (U) or width. This feature makes them suitable for compact network systems, installations in small rooms, or environments where space is at a premium.

Sysracks’ Half Rack Enclosures

We offer 2 models of a half-rack enclosure, both 22U floor-standing. They only differ in depth, namely, they are 32 and 39 deep while their width is standard (24 inches).

  1. A 32-deep half-rack network cabinet is designed to carry mid-sized IT units. Just like a 19-inch frame, this model is equipped with removable doors, side panels, and a roof. Still, latches are used to improve security. Lockable doors prevent unauthorized access and secure system components.
  2. A 39-deep half-size server rack is a floor-standing model equipped with casters for easier relocation. The cabinet is designed to house all sorts of IT infrastructure components (active network equipment, accessories, rack-mount supporters, ventilation devices, power units, cables, etc.). Its supporting capacity is limited to 1600 lbs.

A half-height computer rack is compliant with servers, switches, and other devices. Due to their compact constructions, both models can be mounted not only in data centers but also in premises with limited space, such as offices, home labs, etc.
